Kathryn F. Hordienko

Kathryn Hordienko practices as an associate with Myers Weinberg LLP, in the areas of labour and employment law and general litigation.

Kathryn recently returned to her roots in Winnipeg after spending five years in Alberta. In Calgary, she articled and practiced as a general litigator at a leading national law firm before moving to Field Law, a well-respected regional law firm of approximately 85 lawyers, where she practiced primarily in the areas of labour and employment law for three years, with a portion of her practice dedicated to litigation matters in numerous areas of law including commercial, intellectual property, dependant adult and estate litigation. Kathryn joined Myers Weinberg LLP in 2008, upon her return from Calgary.

Kathryn's particular interest in employment matters began during university when she spent two summers working for the federal government at the Student/Youth Human Resource Centre, assisting students in developing search skills and finding summer employment. In addition, she spent five months in an entrepreneurial position as consultant for a legal recruitment company, assisting lawyers in moving to other firms and companies.

In her final year of law school, Kathryn was on the Dean's Honour List and was awarded the Law Society of Manitoba Prize for 4th overall standing in her graduating class.

Kathryn has written numerous papers on employment law-related matters for a variety of publications, including Field Law's Workwise bulletin, Human Resources Institute of Alberta's Network magazine and the Human Resources Association of Calgary's Perspective newsletter. She has also made presentations for various firm seminars and other employment law-related conferences.

In addition, Kathryn has attended before numerous levels of court, including the Manitoba Court of Queen's Bench and the Alberta Provincial Court, Court of Queen's Bench and Court of Appeal.
