Shannon Carson

Shannon Carson practices as an associate with Myers Weinberg LLP, primarily in the area of labour law where she represents unions and associations in all aspects of their dealings with employers.
She has a particular interest in pension law where she represents the interests of employees and unions in their pension plans. She also represents non-unionized employees in wrongful dismissal claims and other conflicts with employers. She has worked in the labour department of Myers Weinberg LLP since 2002 when she started as a summer student. She articled with the firm in 2004 and was called to the Bar in 2005.
Shannon received the University Gold Medal for highest overall standing in the Faculty of Law in 2004. In her final year of law school she worked as a clerk to the judges of the Manitoba Court of Appeal. She was a member of the team representing the University of Manitoba at the national Gale Cup Appellate Advocacy Moot Competition in 2004.
Shannon's interest in employment issues pre-dates law school. In 1999 she spent a year working in a vocational high school where she helped students develop job search skills and find suitable employment.
Shannon has written and presented papers for the annual Mel Myers Labour Conference since 2003, and has written for the Lawyers' Weekly.
