WHAT WE DO

Susan Dawes

Susan Dawes practices exclusively in the areas of labour and administrative law with the firm Myers Weinberg LLP. She assists union clients with the interpretation and application of collective agreements, workplace policies and rights under legislation affecting workers in Manitoba. She is also involved in drafting agreements and negotiating with employers.

In addition to conducting grievance and interest arbitrations and proceedings before tribunals such as the Manitoba Labour Board, Susan has appeared before Superior Courts in each of Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick, as well as before the Supreme Court of Canada. Susan also provides advice concerning judicial compensation, and in this regard has appeared before the Manitoba Judicial Compensation Committee and the Newfoundland and Labrador Salary and Benefits Tribunal on behalf of associations of provincial judges.

Susan has worked in the labour department of Myers Weinberg LLP since 2001 when she returned from Toronto to Winnipeg. In Toronto, she articled with Eberts Symes Street and Corbett, a small firm which specialized in constitutional litigation and public interest law.
